FENG SHUI, CHI ENERGY-----PAUL DARBY A few years ago now, I was writing and lecturing on feng shui, vibrating chi energy, natural electro-magnetic energy, so I studied quantum physics/quantum theory so that I could deliver the lectures and write my articles from a scientific viewpoint. I had always held the view, even way back before I studied for my Ph.D in Eastern Philosophy that feng shui was based upon quantum theory; the Ancient Chinese just gave it poetic names and symbols, to the extent of the knowledge and 'noticing/observance' they had! What a joy then to discover Professor Brian Cox! What a man! Beautiful physics! Vibrations, jiggling energy, he talks of everything connecting everything, he talks of 'becoming and unbecoming, uncertainty, changes, patterns of vibrational dancing energy.' Professor Cox also talks of the infinite possibilities of these moving flowing patterns of energy, within the infinitely small and the infinitely vast. All connects all, we are stardust, diamonds, loose fields of flowing energy--alter the energy around us, it alters the energy within us. Colours, crystals, interior design can do this! Uncertainty principle in quantum physics, makes the vibrating energy a potent tool, this shifting, moving subatomic, electro-magnetic energy can change our ways of thinking, our moods, our positivity! Brian Cox states that this energy is the 'building block' of everything, DNA, white dwarfs, everything! Waves, particles, electrons, vibrating, moving around a nucleus, 'wriggling in space, strands, dancing strings', waves, particles! Entangled polymers, macro molecules, the proteins that make the silky strands of spiders' webs, the same entanglements of energy that make us! Structure of matter and non matter===the yin yang, the Dao Soup as the wise sages of ancient China called it! Brain Cox, what a man, a joy to listen to, in his 'Night of Stars', talks of electrons behaving like waves, 'moving dancing energy patterns', with different 'frequency waves', with different every changing qualities, that can be modified by the observer, tuned and changed! Buddhists say-'everything is uncertain', quantum physicists work with the 'Uncertainty Principle'. All is changing, all can be coaxed to 'slightly change and vibrate differently' {see my article lower down this page about music and the rhythms of life--entitled----'the energy field'}. Vibrating waves, standing waves, moving waves of energy, streaming around us and through us! The 'wavy behaviour of the subatomic universe' as he calls it. Everything is connected to everything else, waves overlap, alter frequencies, 'interference patterns', increasing probabilities, playing with possibilities. Professor Cox, in his 'Night With the Stars', reassured me about my ideas about the flowing energy waves that I work with -- in my feng shui work, my chi kung, my meditation, energy flows and rising and dipping natural cycles! YES---it is possible to change the 'probabilities' using 'interference'--my interference happens to be feng shui, meditation methods, chi kung. Bad interference can be electiricity, microwaves, ley lines, energy channels. We learn in feng shui that chi energy drops, cascades downwards, and needs to be built up. What a delight to hear Professor Cox say the same thing, using the same words, 'cascading down'. His words about energy levels, 'Exclusion Principle', encouraging 'energy to react', to change, to be 'energetically favourable'. The ancient Chinese masters knew this, but hadn't the scientific knowledge to state it in such terms, so they talked of elements, alchemy, sectors, symbols, dragon's breath--very poetic--but, I am convinced--- it was quantum theory. Energy can be 'reconfigured', every atom is energy, is part of the infinite communication process, 'the field', the 'cosmic internet' of pulsing vibrating energy patterns and frequencies, so very exciting to hear this from Brian Cox! The universe is 'instantly connected===all connects with all'====shifting 'domino dropping' waves of energy, pulsing through us and around us! Uncertainty Principle tells us about these 'vast fields of ever changing energy' that we can tap into, a potent tool indeed! Brian Cox, talked of 'quantum jiggling, of dancing clouds of energy', Einstein talked of the same energy, the same ever-changing patterns, the connections! WOW--as the feng shui doctor, I find this SO exciting, and real evidence of the 'chi energy' that has been talked about for many thousand years. I 'stand upon the shoulders of some very clever masters'. DRAGON YEAR THE YEAR OF THE BLACK WATERDRAGON. Waterdragon year will be powerful, busy, intense, when sincerity and simplicity matter, where traditional ways and handshakes mean so much. They are so much more important and useful than crafty deals and making a swift buck! Be rid of the past, knots, entanglements, untie them and pass on to newness, open pathways, opportunities. Dragon Year will be dotted with lavish events, and some unpredictability. Listen to life's whispers, take the opportunities, a glimmer of light through a door means the door is ready to open. Look forward not back, and do not stand still, the quicksands will suck you down! The arts, fashion, cultural events are all well starred, outlandlish, magnificent projects, one-offs, new schemes and ways are the order of the day! Feng shui isn't magic! Feng shui is NOT all the natural electro-magnetic energy that surrounds you. There are constantly changing, swirling --fast then slow-- cycles and waves of vibrational energy, always changing, always on the move, always flowing around us and through us, always! A bit like musak/music in our home, shops, hotels, lifts===and-----sometimes we are aware of it, sometimes we are not, we are not listening. BUT===it is always there, and====it plays whether we like it or not, and it plays to a set number of tunes, that we can hum along to or ignore. If we want 'Lady in Red', but it is playing Led Zeppelin, then we may have a long wait===and we blame the musak for us not dancing, not taking advantage of the music! Feng shui, meditation, eastern philosophy can tune us in to the music, so we hear it much more and more clearly---it gives us the opportunities to dance--if we refuse, it is not the energy's fault! The energy, according to eastern tradition, is made up of three elements within its vibrations, a cocktail of-----'cosmic/karma' energy, brought in by the moon, the sun, outer space, and our relationship to all those things, then--second, 'people/merit' energy which we build up with our positivity, our actions, our good motivations---then finally, the last third, feng shui, the vibrational energy of our close environment, our 'earth luck energy'. This energy cocktail is a powerful one, three parts--SO------placing a three legged toad in the south east does not mean you are guaranteed to win the lottery each week. On the tightrope of life, feng shui brings a safety net and a safety harness into play, but problems will occur, that's life---how we deal with life, that's a combination of feng shui and merit energy, staying positive, taking chances and opportunities, learning from mistakes, not constantly repeating them! Tune, manipulate, let the cycles flow, stay aware, listen for the whispering of opportunities. Dance, dance, wherever you may be! FENG SHHHhhhhhhh! HUSH! CALMING THE BABY, BABY'S NURSERY FENG SHUI.. A common problem this, one I deal with a lot. Baby not sleeping, so mom and dad are shattered. My latest 'case' was typical, baby, six months old, fretful, restless and crying, especially during the night. Looking at the nursery, I noticed that the baby's cot was too close to the window, very near a radiator, and feet facing the door, all big no-no's.....all energy raisers, and all bringing 'insecurity' into the room...... And really, all common sense! The cot was also in the lively, active, 'yang' sector of east/southeast. I moved the cot into the WEST,top of baby's head pointing WEST--ideal for children and contentment, and, also, picking up energy from the restful SOUTHWEST as well. Earthy pastel shades were used throughout the room, a delightful toffee/fudge. The cot was now into a restful corner, all wardrobes, drawers away from it, the restful colours introduced around it and throughout the room. Lava lamp, brushed steel, with silver floating confetti introduced near to the cot, left on during the night===to balance and harmonise the energies in that part of the room. I advised the parents to put the light on in the room about an hour before baby's bedtime. ***OK.......I then DID add a little bit of shamanistic Daoist 'stuff', I had energised five pieces of rose quartz crystal, which were placed under the mattress in a five of diamonds pattern, secured there with small pieces of blutak. Finally a little piece of jade was attached to a mobile in the room, for healing, and for balancing. I also held the baby and worked with calming strokes and breathing to 'attune' the baby. Within 24 hours, the 6 month old baby, was sleeping 'like a baby' and more to the point--mom and dad were getting restful sleep as well!
